About Jaghund

  1. 10 x hour long episodes (and a few Kiwi ads to have to deal with) A no-holds-barred account of the causes and influences surrounding this conflict, and the effects on everyone concerned. Insanely good footage and photos, along with personal accounts from both sides. Refreshing, shocking, infuriating. And most of all, important we understand and do not forget how this happened, particularly given current personalities in power. Go to https://www.tvnz.co.nz/categories/factual, in their on-demand area do a search for “Vietnam”. Sign up is free, though not sure if it works OK from outside NZ (may need a VPN). Enjoy.
  2. My understanding is it had more to do with the bad weather conditions. The wet late summer that year led to sodden ground that was hopeless for the heavily laden French men at arms, who became quickly bogged and lost any advantage from thicker armour. Sitting ducks for the longbows of the English, and their soldiers who were lightly armoured due to having to travel so far to attack the French. So more luck than good leadership that won that battle.
