  1. I was born in 1953 in Malta. My father was in the RAF and although he was too young for war service he did assist in the Berlin Airlift. When we left Malta I spent the rest of my youth in Kent near the Thames river. All the bunkers, gun emplacements and such were all still there and as kids we played 'war' in and on most of them. I guess my interest stems from that :-)
  2. The biggest mistake made by the Nazi's was commencing Operation Barbarossa before destroying or invading England. Had they successfully taken England, they could have invaded Russia fighting only on one front with their western flank secure from invasion.
