I'm developing a television series about compassion in wartime.  I'd love to hear everyone's favorite story of compassion and humanity in the otherwise inhumane environment of war.  Ideally these are either personal stories of loved ones or not well publicized stories.  We're looking for stories from all nations and wars so don't hold back.  What story would you like to see in this type of series?

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

I know I've read some pretty incredible stories over the years of such things but I've probably read more about acts of mercy more than "compassion".  But a good start for you would be to check out the book "A Higher Call" by Adam Makos.  It's a rather long book to read for essentially what comes down to one usable story for your purpose but I think it would be well worth it.
